What a lovely purple cow from your friend! I'll definitely check her out. I'm here following from Java's 40 & Over Follow Friday, but I also recognize you from Robin's "Your Daily Dose". I believe we were both featured yesterday in her Here's To You Thursday post too!
I had a mother who was similar to yours (from the little I've had a chance to read so far) but my mom was so oblivious to what she was doing when she interfered that you almost couldn't stay mad at her. She would also back off if I had enough and told her to stop. At least until the next thing she needed to educate me about popped into her head....
